Worlds 2022 venue and date changed

The United States A-Class Catamaran Association has requested a change of location and date for the 'A' Cat World Championships 2022. Instead of St. Petersburg (FL), the event will take place in Houston (Texas) from April 29th to May 6th, 2022. A preceding event will be the Admiral's Cup, taking place from April 25th to April 28, 2022, on the same location. The Organising Authority is the Houston Yacht Club in conjunction with the International A-Division Catamaran Association and the United States A-Class Catamaran Association. https://houstonyachtclub.com/web/pages/home

The move from StPYC to HYC may well be somewhat easier on the sailing calendar to avoid clashing with the Princess Sofia regatta in Palma/Spain and also to accommodate the Olympic classes regatta which is important for many of our competitors (as some are competitors or coaches for the Palma event). The move might also help manage freight challenges, given the large port facility nearby to the Houston Yacht Club.

The IACA is working closely with the organizers to evaluate the change and prepare the official Notice Of Race which should follow within a few days. We are thankful to the St. Petersburg Yacht Club and Emmanuel Cerf for the work they have been engaged in until now. We look forward to a great event hosted by USACA and the HYC.

More details to follow ASAP.
